I don't know what to do next and I need an o2 sensor!!!
Hey wussup everybody, i've been having some minor problems with my baby and that is when i start it up when it's cold she misses and sometimes when she is idling she will miss.....I replaced the plugs with oem ngk's and I checked the wires but there are no sparks jumping but I'm getting to the point that I want to replace those too. I bought a new pcv valve a I'm going to put that in tommorow when the engine is cold and there is one other thing, I want to replace the O2 sensor and I went to autozone and they said that all they have is a special order bosch sensor and it was $99 and i damn near cried, i checked napa online and they had one for aproximately $68-70 I also tried to check courtesyparts but they didn't even have any for our cars. Do any of you guys know where I can get a good one that won't break my pockets? I'll check discount auto parts on my break. I had a timing belt replacement in August at 83000mi and I'm at 93000, do any of you think that it could be that or the tensioner because I had that replaced also I've been trting to acess the problem before taking into a shop so they can charge me $60 in order to tell me that they need $1000 to fix a problem that I can do myself for less than $100. The problem isn't affecting my gas milage at all, on average i get 25 mpg, but i just don't know what to do, any and all feasable suggestions and ideas would be very appreciated. Thanx in advance
JCwhitney.com--->
just go there and use the search function, and it'll be the one at the bottom(platinum tip, 3wire) for about $60-70 shipped! I've got mine, except ground is too wet to put it in right now(damn melting snow!)I haven't found a better price yet though!!
Someone mentioned http://www.oxygensensors.com in another
thread the other day. They have a sensor for $59.99 with
free shipping. It says it is an OEM-style sensor with
three-wire connector. If I could find the @#$%^&* part
number I'd look it up at http://www.nissanautoparts.com or send
an e-mail off to Coz at Ultimate Z and get a price quote.
My '93 GXE has just under 120K miles and I haven't replaced
the O2 sensor yet, so I think I am due myself...

Damnit
I changed the PCV valve and the car still misses when it's started cold. Thats it!!!! I'm taking it to nissan and I'm gonna leave it there to get cold and let them see what i'm talking about and then they can hook it up to their computer and tell me what's wrong. I'm at the end of my @%#$^&%^$$%^% rope. Thanx for the help and i went to that place for an o2 sensor but all of the NGK's were on back order ( which I ended up finding out from the sales manager after doing an inquiry) The service was excellent and they had personally typed responses for all of my questions with in 15min, even before I found out that the sensors were on back oder the guy took the initiantive to intercept my payment and cancel it. I would recommend him to everybody and anybody. If any of you guys have to call them ask for Ralph Bull that was the guy I was talking to. But back to my main concern.......I'm taking the car in. Thanx for all the help
If your gas mileage is fine, why replace the O2 sensor? Replace it if you fail emissions or your fuel consumption goes through the roof.
The sensor shouldn't cause cold idle problems.
You say no sparks jumping with respect to the leads. I assume you mean that you grounded the lead to the engine (whilst it was running) and saw no spark. This should give you a hint that it is an electrical fault such as leads, distributor cap or coil.

Well for one thing the car is going on 95000mi and I think it might be time (saftey precaution) and the reason I want to check it out is because even though it's not hurting my mpg...the fact is that suppose there is something in the engine that is months, weeks, or even days away from costing me over a thousand dollars. i get worried about my car very easily, as you may have noticed
Update
Wussup everybody, I took my car to Ft. Pierce Nissan and they made my appointment for 7:30AM!!!!!! and they took the car in first and kept it for 5 hours....... I asked how much it would cost and the service lady tells me $61 I say ok no problem I just want to know what was wrong with my car.........so what's the problem you ask???THOSE @#$%^ING PEOPLE CHARGED ME $183...AND WHAT DID THEY FIND YOU ASK????
N O T H I N G!!!!!! THE EXACT RESPONSE FROM THE MECHANIC WAS "We need you to bring it in when it get's worse"....I couldn't believe my damn ears. I don't know what to do but the good news is my exhast studs are in beautiful shape. Sorry but I just had to vent

Call 1800-Nissan1, first thing on monday. They are great at handling situations like this. Explain that they told you it would be $61 for a diagnosis of the problem with your car, but it wound up being $183 with no results. You could also enrich the story a bit, saying that they made you felt very uncomfortable, were very rude and so on. I can almost guarantee some great results.
My father dealt with them about an incident with his 96 Max, and before he knew it, that dealer called him at home, apologized and invited him back with no charge.
Dont pass up the opportunity.
