you don't remove the grills you remove the door by taking out the screws at the bottom, in the handle that you pull to close the door there is a round tab in the handle under the tab there is a screw and remove the plastic behind the handle to open up the door. then lift up on the door piece the first time will be a little hard don't worry it will come off.

bah. if you are gust careful with the plastic near where you are prying, and apply reverse pressure to where it is bending with your other hand, you shouldnt break anything.

Anyway, good luck o you both.

It is a pain to pry out the vent part of the 4th Gens. Also the ash tray is a pain because you have to pull it out of the clips which always fall off and drop somewhere. Also be careful when prying, use a cloth to wrap the screwdriver or whatever you're using to prevent scratching.

I've done mine about 10-15 times now, it's not that hard. For the top vent, pop one side, then the other...then pull evenly

don't be scurred...i know it looks, sounds, & feels like you're breakin' sh*t but just be gentle and keep pullin'; the real b*tch is going to be removing the screws that hold the stock HU...brace yourself for that.
