Manual/Automatic Climate Control Swap
Manual/Automatic Climate Control Swap
Is this possible? I really want an automatic climate control, the manual is so annoying, and not very useful either. If it is possible, where could I get an automatic one? I have a 91 GXE. Thanks in advance for all help and advice.
from what i hear, not possible. apparently the duct work behind the dash is drastically different between the auto and manu models. a conversion would require TONS of custom work and relocation of components behind the dash.
i have auto climate control.. its alright..

I replied to this same question the other day...shame search isnt working for non supporters.
Basically it could be done if you have a whole car to do the swap with. There is a lot more to it than just swapping the control part. There are sensors and the plug is different I believe.
Basically I am saying do not try this.

yeah, its not really worth it, sure its cool having all those buttons but when the display goes out then it sucks. the dim atc is one of those age old mysteries same as the cupholder, clock, broken exhaust studs...
plus to get a new one, its about 700, and to have a pro fix it, about 200
