Is warranty void if salvage title??

I'm looking to buy an 03 max. It is a recovered theft and has a salvage title. Does anyone know if the Nissan warranty is still covered?? Also what are your opinions on buying salvage? If the price is right..

Thanks

Actually I used to work for a dealer and that is only partailly true. If something goes wrong with your car and it is related to previous damage then it will not be covered. It depends on the amount of damage that has occurred to the vehicle. If it is an unrelated problem then Nissan will cover it. They don't ask to see your title when the car is brought in for service. The VIN of the car is not flagged in Nissans system unless the dealer has noted previous damage.

In any case i would stay away from salvage titled vehicles. If you decide you do want to get a salvage vehicle make sure you pay NO MORE than 50% of it's non-salvage value. Example - 2002 max w 30K miles is worth roughly 16-18K. Salvage would be worth no more than 8-9K

I agree. Unless you are getting a super bargain, then buyer beware.

I agree with everyone comments on it. Salvage title is not always a good idea since you don't know what kind of damage was done on the car. As for resale value....if you're going to buy it, plan on keeping it until death do you part otherwise you're not going to get much for a trade in.

In purchasing a vehicle with a salvage title, would there be any issues with aquiring insurance? I checked google for the answer, but guess "salvage title" + "insurance" was too broad of a topic for results to answer my question.

I got my first 1996 max lol and it was salvaged. It was in a flood and had all the computers and electrical parts changed in it. I payed alot less then it was worth at the time and it had 90000 mile on it, and i just prevoiusly sold it. Its running great still and i never had a problem with it, and it had 130000 miles on it with original motor and tranny when i sold it to my friend. It all depends on if your lucky or not with a salvage title its a 50 50 chance in my opinion. For instance my 2002 max with a clean title lol has had more problems then my 1996, but thats another issue.

Sick white max, but I think you should buy another grille from grille tech and double it up it makes it look so much better. Thats what i did so you cant see inside. I bought the diamond and race styles and doubled them up and you cant see in now, and the air goes through jsut the same also.

Stay away from it. In other words, DON'T GET IT!

Thanks again everyone.
I actually found an 02 that I'm trying to buy now...I have the worst luck though!! It is a lease car and the guy is going to end his lease early. I'm trying to buy it as a third party buyout. He is trying to avoid paying the taxes and just get them to transfer the car to me. Anyone had any experiance with this??

Depends on the state but most places charge tax when you register the car. So have one person buy the car and sell it before it gets registered. Check with your local DMV for details as some states require you to register a car before it is sold.
