Need help with wiring up my Airhorns..Please
My friend just bought me some airhorns for Xmas. We have verything installed except that we cant get the airhorns to work. We grounded the compressor to a random bolt on the engine. To get power, i tried cutting off one of the old clips that was connected to the old horn and wired that on for power. It worked the first couple of times that i hit the horn, but then i stopped. I used the factory wiring because i want to use the switch on the steering wheel. I know the compressor isnt dead because when i connect the positive to the battery, they work. I checked the fuse, and its fine.
How do you guys hook up your airhorns??? Did you use the factory wiring to keep using the switch in the steerin' wheel??? Please help me i'm goin nuts without a horn.

Sounds like you blew your fuse (there are two fuses for the horns).
I don't know what the rating of the airhorns are but I bet they're much higher than the stock disc horns which draw about 3A or so each.
I don't have airhorns, but I did upgrade to trumpet horns (about 6A draw each) and changed my antitheft horn fuse from the stock 7.5A to a 10A to avoid nuisance blows.
Hope someone with airhorns reply but if airhorns consume an insane amount of current, you will need to add a relay. My 0.02.

i got airhorns hooked up to my stock wiring... which fuse did you check??? check your fuses under the hood because i know it wasn't the airhorn that blew everytime....anti-theft maybe??? check all the fuses and upgrade it to a bigger fuse....
Try a different ground possibly the ground on the battery. Also recheck all the wiring because if it worked once and no fuses are blown it has to be a problem with the wiring. When I wired my air horns I spliced it to the factory horns so I have the factory and the air horns blasting at the same time imagine the reactions i get.
Which fuse would blow, if I did blow a fuse. I checked the 10A one in the engine bay right next to the battery ( screwed to the fender ) and the fuse is normal. The horns came with a relay, but I thought that if I use that, then i would have to make a separate switch to activate the horns. Which is why I'm tryin to hook it up to the factory wiring. Is there a way to use the relay and some how splice in the factory wires to use the switch in the steerin wheel?

use the stock horn to activate the relay. Just look at the instruction they give you and replace the switch with the stock horn. Just use the wire from the stock horn located in the front grill and disconnect the other one located next to the engine.
