Will the back seat from an 89 fit in a 92? Are all the anchoring points in the same place? I thought I had read that the 89- 91 seats had different clips or something.. but im not sure about that

It should. My '89 seats look just like the '92. Lord know I've had them out enough times. I've never tried it, but I don't see why it wouldn't hurt.

They fit, but the outside edge it just a bit narrower. I'd got 89 seats in my 93... clips and such fit fine, but the set is about 1/2" narrower on each side so there's a gap between the door sill and the edge of the seat.

I think you just have a messed up seat LOL. I put 89 covered in leather for a 93 in my 93 and it fit just like the 93 seats did. No gap or anything. I remember reading about youre experience but found it odd I didnt have that problem.

matt, how many rear seats have you experimented with? i know my 92 leather is starting to warp a little on the left side. its creating a slight gap. maybe you had this same problem with your swapped seat? just throwing that out there as a suggestion. ive only played around with my original seating, so i cant answer for sure.

No, I have the same problem as Matt. On both sides there is a gap between the side metal of the car and where the seats are. No idea why there was a design change or whatever, but it annoys the heck out of me.

But a design change doesnt explain it. I have an 89 SE parts car and the rear seats are EXACTLY like the ones out of my 93SE. They fit perfectly when I put them in.

Are yours leather? Maybe Walka is onto something if you do...if not then

yeah, I dunno.. I've seen it go both ways... I've got leather, and I know it's crap.. it is hard and nasty, but I don't think it would cause it to shrink that much- the seat's got a metal frame in it to prevent that.

dunno.
