Check air bag system after 10 years??

That's what it says on my driver's side visor. Have the system serviced/inspected by a Nissan stealership after 10 years. Has anyone done this? What does it entail and what does it cost. Is it really necessary? Should I sit farther from the steering wheel, all tensed up, in case the bag should inexplicably blow up?

Thanks.

I had a 90+ mph crash in my old max with an air bag. It didn't go off (thank god).

I dont think i'd worry about it.

Anyone know the error codes for the airbag indicator light. Mine was flashing an error 2 for about 2 weeks and it is now flashing a one code.
Thanks

If this wasn't the terrorist crazy new millenia I'd say remove the !&^%!$ bags and send them to your congressmen and tell them to sit on it! More useless junk mandated for our vehicles.

I couldn't agree more. If they had any sense, they would have made ABS and driver training mandatory, and the airbags optional. Avoid the accident, and you wouldn't need airbags. Also, there's no substitute for wearing your seatbelt. The airbags are supplementary.
