Another road trip for my car...and she was trustworthy as always!

it was a 12 hour drive (with a couple of rest stops). All i needed was one gas refill. it was interesting to discover Oklahoma (sp?) state doesnt sell 93 grade fuel? according to 3 gas stations. and I-35 had some major fog throughout OK. fun to drive through in the night

here's my list of other road trips so far with this maxima:

*Michigan-Washington DC-New York-Washington DC(pick up friends)-Michigan(thanksgiving break)
*Michigan-New York-Michigan (again, winter break)
*Michigan-Iowa

After I get an allignment, new tires, and a stereo (lol) I'm probably going to be pulling a Seattle, Washington to Raleigh, North Carolina road trip.

 

What's that, you say? No 93 octane in OK?? What's the world coming to? The horror... the SHAME!! Guess I'm gonna have to bypass that lame-o state on my way to Texas, huh??

What??? Don't listen to everything you hear. Some people down here are just retards and talk without actual knowledge. What part of OK were you in? I fill up with 93 all the time.

 

i stayed on I-35 all the way through. and exited 3 times to look for 93 grade...and didnt find it...so i stopped at this town further down and stopped at three more gas stations and all they had was 91 too... i asked the attendants where i could find 93 and thats what i got told...u wont find 93 grade in OK!...?? they must have been trying to make a sale.

 

How many miles are on your car? I wish i still had my Jetta, that thing was a tank and never gave me any problems on road trips. Los angeles to cincinnati. Cincinnati to Panama City. Cincinnati to Daytona twice. It had 215, 000 miles on it, no drive train problems whatsoever. Only maintenance i ever did to it was clutch and oil changes.

 

Glad you made it ok, too bad you had to leave Iowa....ok so you're lucky

 

it just crossed 138,000 miles. i put a new clutch in at 119,000 miles. thats the only major mechanical work it needed so far.

WTF?! No 93 octane in OK?! That's a load of shlT!!
I've lived in several different towns in OK all my life, and ever since I've been driving (10 yrs now), they've had 93 octane at just about every station out there..

mostly the larger places like phillips 66, conoco, texaco, mobil, exxon, etc.. they all do. exxon even has 94 I believe..

ahhh well. have fun in Tx...

yeah i am beginning to realize i was misinformed by the gas stations just to sell me gas at 3 am in the morning...my not-so-southern accent probly gave me away as new to the area

looking forward to meeting all y'all texan 3rd gen owners here (did i get the "all y'all" right the southern way or what )
