Good News! I feel like a pioneer now :) 97 - 92 Visor Conversion--->

One thing I love about my 97 is the homelink visor (as some may have seen me post about) it also has dual lit vanity mirrors. I decided to do some work, so I picked up a spare set of 97 grey visors with the homelink system and dual vanity lit mirrors. I initially wanted to do homelink visors only, but then I thought while I had the lit mirrors, I might as well try and convert them. I was going to gut the 97 visors and transfer it all over, but guess what???

97 and 92 Visors are the exact same size, they have the exact same curves and all. Now the next step is to find out where the homelink and vanity mirrors plug in to. There is a harness on each 97 visor, I would like to trace it down and pick one up off a 97 plug in the harness and run the wires to wherever the 97 goes...more to come. For those who have garage or gate openers SAY GOODBYE!

On my 97 I have it programmed for my garage door, my GF's moms gate and my friends apartment gate, in my 92 I have a huge craftsman door opener in my center console I have to get out everytime... This is good news!!!

I also installed my factory leather door inserts today

the antenna built into the visor, all it needs are power and ground which can be easily pulled from the map lights or wherever

easy peasy
good job Donald

Craig: You are right, the hardest part was pulling down the headliner and running the wire, I used a male-female connector on the power and the ground and just hacked off the harness. I am trying to be like you oh great wiring master

I have the drivers side mounted, here are the only downsides:

The mounting holes are different, so I had to drill new holes. I will hopefully take some pics soon. The stock mount is kind of oval and the 4th gens is more round, so you see some empty/holes on the sides of the mount, nothing major (almost like advancing your timing, that little gap you leave, like that on both sides) also, the mount hangs down a little bit in the back, I am going to try and fix it...dont know if it is the way I drilled it, I could of had it hanging while I was drilling dont know. Also, the greys are different, the 4th gens is dark (I wish the 3rd gens was) but it is light. One more thing, when I go to swing the visor to the side it sort of rubs the roof, but if you pull it down a little as sliding there is no problems. All in all they are VERY minor and I only picked them out cause I am VERY picky and like things to look stock. One more thing, the stupid air bag sticker, I am going to have a cool sticker made for it though.

The upsides are vanity lit mirror and cant beat the Homelink no more bulky remote taking up space in my console and dont have to worry about taking it out to use it, I can alway go to the car and press the button. I also noticed that the mirror seems slanted, I think I can make adjustments and fix all these MINOR things, also the 4th gen visor fits a bit better it fills in the space when the visor is up.

Next job digital climate control (I NEED THIS, the 4th gen spoiled me with it) can anyone help? please?

Mr.Gone: I got a GREAT deal from a guy here on .org he had them both for $35 shipped, I will never find that deal again so I had to jump on them.
