Well, after about a friggin month of research I finally bought and today installed four new Kumho Ecsta 215/55ZR16 tires. Talk about bang for the buck, only $300 for all four, and the damn things stick like gum on blacktop. Getting my Tok/HR setup done Friday, and will spend my weekend rejoicing on the backroads of northern Cal. Picked up a cool metal NISMO decal too, only $10.

Thanks for the feedback! I've been considering those for my next set, but hadn't heard any feedback on how they perform. Thanks again!

I bought those in 225/40. Haven't had a chance to test them out yet.

W is Z-rated. A sub-rating on the Z rating. It says Z on the tire though. Look into it on tirerack.com

I think the tread life is 280 on them. Check discount tire direct. It has it there.

Answers to questions...

I got the Z rated ones actually by 'accident'.
They (Tire Rack) show W rated on the page, if I remember correctly, and that's what I expected, but then I got them and saw that they are actually Z rated. No price difference either.

Treadwear: still got the label in my car, but I think it's 250 or 280....something like that. A ratings all around as well.

The NISMO metal decal is about 3.5" X 2" or so, and was $10 at Enzo Motorsports in Vallejo on Sonoma Blvd. Looks like one at http://www.nismo.com, goto Nissan/Nismo stickers, the big one second up from the bottom of the page (above the Nissan logo) NISMO STICKER #16.
