I'm in high school and I have a 97 5-speed max, and a friend of mine is getting a 95 trans am 6 speed in a week. and he's been giving me crap all week about how crappy my car is going to be and how much he's going to kill me. he's picking the car up for less than what I bought mine for 2 months ago, so he's really digging in saying i got ripped off...blah..blah..blah. and i'm just wondering what you guys think of them, and are they really as great as he is saying or is he just being cocky. i know it has a much larger engine, 5.7 v8 i believe, but will this car really destroy me. and what do you guys think i'll need to keep up with it? thanks alot

 

Even though his car is heavy I believe they are in the 14s stock. You'll need just about every bolt-on as far as intake & exhaust goes to match him.

But he could also be a horrible driver and screw up his shifting...who knows.

a muscle car is SUPPOSE to beat a v6 sedan, your allowed to lose, hes not, or hell lose FACE...

IF anything, a 3.8litre is more comparable, and stock 4 stock ull still dust that, considering u have an overall better car, yet remain the underdawg with 0.8less litres...

upper 90 model were mid high 13s, prior i think 14s, not sure, but whatever, tell him to read this post!

your family sedan with some grunt, hes just a muscle car that is only meant to go fast, and for what it is, it aint even that fast, 5.7litre runnin 13s? jap cars with 3.5litres r barely hittin high 13s, imagine v8 engine jap cars......

few things to keep in mind:

1. remind him that he'll have his *** handed to him by every other LS1 on the road(98+)

2. if his car isnt already falling apart, it will be soon. my brothers 98ta has 25k miles on it and his a/c compressor is already gone and his drive belt sqeaks so loud you can hear it inside the car while the radio is on. of course his radio is already on the fritz and who knows how long it will continue to work.

The lt1 and ls1 is a great car, id love to have one as a weekend warrior, but as someone else said the serve one function that being raw power.

What about one of thsoe old ugly 80's TA. Its the big football jock who drives it. Its a 5 speed. Said he got 350hp I know its totally stock. I know it doesnt have 350hp at all. And every1 is like he will destroy any car at the school. I was wonder if Maxxy has a change.

Id just love to see the face of the jock when a grocery car blows him away..
