I have been wanting to check my knock sensor to see if its working within specs. So i went out looking with a flashlight and was looking for it per instructions on motorvate.ca Needles to say I could never find the damn thing and now realize from reading another thread that the swirl valve is in the way of getting to it. In order to replace the knock sensor one MUST remove the upper intake manifold. greaaaaaaaaat. Anybody somehow, some way, able to replace the knock sensor on a 99 SEL WITHOUT having to go through through all that? Removing the upper intake manifold just sounds scary How hard is this to do? Anybody have pics on how to do this? My max has 45k on it. There sure are a lot of quirks for the 99 sel , Still love it though.
