What would trip a knock sensor code if there isn't really a problem?

What would trip a knock sensor code if there isn't really a problem?
So my check engine went on and i got 0304 (knock sensor), and 0409 (undetermined). I reset it, and it hasn't gone back on in 3 days. If it doesn't go back on, what would have tripped it?
