Projector retrofit 95 max

The org is back finally it felt like forever. Well here is the deal I have decided after the whole indigo experience to go to the experts and get HID projectors installed on my car.
I looked at two places
HIDTECH.com and Illusion-lighting.com
I have decided to go with Hidtech even though Illusion has a much longer and more prestigious reputation. They have the pics and the PRICES to go with it.
Hidtech is more economical (cough**) And they’re located near my old stopping grounds near Queens College, Flushing Queens. So I'm dropping of the light housings there.
Both I hear have good reps, and a good body of work to show so l just chose the one that I can work with. $$$$
I have 99 clear housings and I want to do the AE mod where you black out the outer edges. That with the enclosures, ECE bi-Hella projectors, Bulbs etc. will give me the lighting I need and the appearance I want. I'm hoping when I see you guys at the Tobay meet that all this will be completed and ready to show off.
I can't wait to see GEO there to see how we compare, but a big one to a true DIY'r =)
They say it may take about a week or so to do the mod. I think I'm their first 4th Gen Max who is going to have this mod done. So if all goes well I'll have some pics for you. Or I'll just wait for the meet
I'm not going to post the price as that is still being worked out but their site gives you an idea what to expect $$$ and even though they have a good rep I want hold off giving details till the finish product is done and installed.
If you got questions I'll try to answer them I just wanted to give the org a one up on if anyone was thinking of doing this.
I'm updating my site this week by Thursday I'll have a few pics of my 9004 hid kit. Great beam shots.

Peace.

P.S. After this I wont need my 9004 H.I.D. 8200k bulbs so if anyone is interested in buying them let me know they are 6 months old.

I just dropped off my 99 housings at Terry’s. He is the guy at Hidtech that will do the retrofit. I had wanted to do the AE mod but after speaking with him I decided against it. Just felt it wouldn’t look right with the chrome enclosures. I wanted type 2 enclosures but terry said the Mercedes OEM enclosures might fit so I told him to put them if they did fit. He said he will e-mail pics of the retrofit and it should be done in a week.
As I get pics I’ll post to so you guys can see. I’m the first max they have ever done so I’m exited that everything will work out well.

There is no 9004 projectors. ALL H.I.D. projectors carry d2s bulbs. The industry standard. Halogen projectors carry the H type bulb. Ex. H1 H2 etc

If you take a look at their website you will see the prices in the retrofit section.
Thats pretty much it, add labor, parts, and boom you got the price. When everything is said and done By next Saturday (hopefully) I will post the price and anything extra.
I'll tell everyone right now the price is high but it would have been higher if I went with the other company.

Also if you do the labor yourself and plan and plan you will be able to do it for just the cost of parts.

I learn to harshly that to
get what needs to be done right the first time (9 times out of 10) You usually will have to pay the higher price.

Keep checking back for pics and keep asking questions.
Thanks for the response guys

Oh and the bad weather can be good. The pics on my page of the hids were taken on a misty rainy night. Showed off the beam and light perfectly.

"ABK" check the post on top and their website. I't pretty much on the nose

Retrofitted 9004 bulbs in PRJECTORS?

I was just wondering how it would look if projectors were retrofitted with stock 9004 bulbs and put back into the headlights? How would it look? Would their be a beam pattern? Has any tried this?

I may have to disassemble mine to put those shrouds on my projectors. they look hot, and almost OEM compared to the huge disk on mine.

Well I just got back from having the lights installed.
All I can say is THESE ARE THE SH*T. When I saw them I had the biggest Kool-Aid smile ever. Then when they were installed and both were turned on I nearly BUSTED A NUT! Right there. No joke I was so happy. The beam pattern driving back was fantastic. The high beams are SO f%^KING SICK. I light everything up. Everything, I feel like I'm on a HID rush. Daytime pics will be on my page tomorrow.(ignore the bumper it just happen this month). I will try for nighttime pics tomorrow night.

Now the info:
Hidtech.com
Note Kept my HID ballast.from a 9004 hid retrofit kit.
$180 one pair of Bi-xenon projectors. Didn’t need the whole package just the HIDs.
$90 Two d2s bulbs. Could not used the one that came with my 9004 kit.
$35 Two d2s connectors. To connect the d2s bulbs to my Hella ballast I kept from the 9004 kit.
$150 Two Type E enclosures. Paid extra but was so worth it, they look great as if they came from the factory.
$776.60 Total if paid with Paypal Was $20 more b/c they charge a .03% if you pay through paypal.
$50 Plug and play harness. Used the bulb that came with the clear headlights made everything true plug and play. You need to replace your headlight fuses with 20amp ones or you will burn out the stock 15amp..

$826 Total from them. All in all what I expected to pay. The work is top notch, and the beam is just sick,

Housings for $84 each these housing look just like OEM and They come with a bulb and bolts that you need. Came to about $184 with shipping got them in 2 days.

My lights took 4 days to make, got installed on the 5th day.
So everything came to a little less then a ‘G”
Which was what I expected everything to come out to.
This package I put this package together yours, if you decide to do this, can be cheaper or more.

wow, dam, thats great bro. I'm in the same situation, I have hanabi 9004 kit and i guess i'll have to change my bulbs, dam so i'm looking at about the same price. Do D2S bulbs come in purple? also would they be willing to do a group deal to get prices cheaper? if we can get it in the 500-600 dollar range i know a handful that would jump on this.

They don't carry puple. The light looks blue b/c of the projector lens, The closest thing is a 6000k d2s bulb. They are blusish/purplish no one makes d2s bulbs that are greater than 6000k. You lose to many lumes. For a group deal who knows, but they require payment in full before any work is done,
Your price mybe cheaper, don't forget you could get a cheaper enclosure and have them paint it blact for the JDM look.
Plus since you have your ballest already you will just need the wires. E-mail them and see if you can get everything cheaper.

Mad-MAX_SE, those look sick. One thing I did noticed though..it looks like the inside of the lights are still exposed. Specifically, you can see the backet coming into the enclosure near the projector. Is this right and if so won't there be issues with water getting in there? Other than that those lights are fabulous.

These lights don't glare like the 9004 kits. They look like they came with the car and Yes they are worth it. I see everything on road and more. I feel safer and I'm not getting flashed at all. It's a such a great improvement. I would never ever go back to anything less then a 4100k hid projector.

I know many of you are thinking it's too much, but it's all up to the person.
If you can do this your self then do it and get the lighting I get for half of what I paid. I use paypal linked it to my card and now I'm paying it off. Anything can be paid for if you plan ahead. So I'm not worried. =)

Sorry man i missed this post. I guess the best way to explain it is this: what you see is entirely inside the light. I have a different type of bezel than Soulrupture, and that's why you can see all of that. The bulb holder is on the outside of the housing, and it's sealed from the elements by a generous helping of hot glue (lol, it was all i had, but it did the job....just think of it as a silicon weather strip).
