CF Lip Installed (pics)

CF lip purchased from Ionic Dynamics.
Skies were cloudy so pictures are kinda dull. Right now Texas is being dumped on with rain, once the sun comes back I will take more pics.

Looks nice! The only thing that I don't like is that the screws can be seen. Is there any way to mount it from underneath? Also, does the carbon fiber have some kind of UV protectant?

Looks good, I have my lip held in place w/ similar screw locations w/ mesh to cover it up. Makes it real sturdy! Are you gonna get more CF, hood?????

Yes, CF hood will be comming soon. With both the lip and hood the front end will look more complete.

Im sure you could mount it elsewhere. I chose those locations so that the lip would be as secure as possible. I also chose not to use double sided tap on the sides but to actually mount it to the inside of the wheel well.
The bolts really arent too noticable unless you are right up on it and even then their not to much of an eye sore being that they are black and kinda blend in.

I had my door sills custom made a while back. There was a guy doing a GD on some a while back. Im not sure of his qaulity though.

It doesn't really look good on a white car. Maybe with the CF hood it'll look better.

Same feelings here. Like most of the other posters stated, on a black car it would look nicer. Right now it just looks so mismatched.

I'm sorry to sound so negative, but it looks retarted unless there were matching sides and rear.

Maybe i just need to see more pics, like from a distance, and different angles.

just like i said before, it looks like the maxima has a little hair on it's chin. hehehe

Personally i think it looks sexy, it's contrasting with the white and really makes it stand out. A carbon fiber hood would really make it look great.

nah... don't paint it! that's the whole point of getting carbon fiber so that everybody knows that it is carbon fiber and not fiberglass or urethane. once the cf hood and trunk come into play it'll look hot. go to www.vis.com and check out their white and cf R33 skyline. it's hot.

Unless the pic is up close, the CF lip looks EXACTLY like an unpainted urethane lip. I'm not feeling it, but it's his car and he's happy. However I don't think he'll be real happy when he cracks it hitting a curb. I've got H&R springs and I have to touch up my lip about twice a year...and I consider myself a careful driver.

I agree. You should get it painted white. I am not really diggin' the looks on a white max. But then again, if you get it painted, you'll end up spending more $$. It's your choice man.

What is the point in painting a CF lip? It's not like it's a hood or trunklid where some people buy them for the weight savings. You buy the CF lip for appearance and painting it defeats the purpose.

Anyway I say it looks good man, get CF hood and go panda!

I know painting it defeats the purpose.. but it just doesn't seem to be looking "great".
Some of us just think that it'll look better if it was white on white.
I remember seeing BMW 3 series (WHITE) with a carbon fiber lip and that looked great. It looked more like a wind splitter (i think that's what you call it).

I think I've seen that Bimmer before...white M3, cf splitter and gunmetalish wheels. Maybe if he powdercoated the wheels black or gunmetal it would match better :dunno:

Yea i don't think i like it with the white, it looks like you left something unfinished or something, might look better with the hood like others have said

I saw one near my house. This "kid" was driving it and it was not an M3. It was a white 2 door coupe (330ci). anyways.. It looked good on his because you get to see 100% of the front bumper.
On the white max, you don't. There is an "uneven" cut-off line which makes it look "alright".

^ I swear I've seen that car in Yonkers before at Nathan's. Anyways... My CF lip just came in today, and I'll get some pics probably on monday of it installed, since I'm working tomorrow straight through sunday. My car is deep evergreen, so the contrast will be much less noticeable.

I think you should get a red lip, instead of a CF one. Unless it's a front splitter, i don't think it looks 100% great. It looks better when 100% of your front bumper is showing, rather than having a few noticeable cut off lines.

this is on a civic:

these look "ok" too:

I don't think the cf lip makes any color car flow so well even with the cf hood. Maybe on a black max it might look good. I was seriously considering this lip, but it's just not rubbing me the right way. I think if the rest of the kit was cf also, it might make a difference. As of now still riding the fence on this one.
jdmmax, very nice ride. don't listen to me regarding the lip, i just don't know either way......i guess i just need to see it in person, with different color cars.
any pics with a black max would be great too.

It looks good in person. That sterling mist, whats decieving is whenever a max is dropped that low it looks good no matter if its got a pink front lip and hood.

I'd look into some big rivits for yur fenders instead of those bolts which are gonna rust soon, and contrast too greatly, and say steal my carbon fiber lip while im in the mall please!!! Me and my cordless ratchet could ruin your day

That Sterling Mist Max wouldn't be able to drive on normal streets properly being that low.
