window tinting for a white 97 max: platinum or 35-30% black?

when spring gets here, im getting tint for my White '97 GXE. i can't decide if i should get the normal black around 35-30%, or if i should get the platinum tint. (it's somewhat like mirror tint, but not as drastic)

post any comments or other suggestions you'd like.

35-30% stock is too light. AT that percentage, might as well not get tint at all. On a white car, dark tint is SLEEK...very nice IMO. 5-10%.

Reflective tint on white looks terrible imo. I have 20% and love it, but when I do it again I'm going darker in the back

wow, vsides...your tint is tight!!! how much did that cost you??

the only problem i have is that 35% is the legal limit in TN, have any of you guys had a problem with the cops at all?

if i were to get like 20% tint on the doors and 15% on rear window, what do you think about that?

I have 35% all the way around on my car and Cops never have said anything and the limit is 50% here so I think 35% wouldnt look bad...If youd like there are some pics of my max on my webpage check it out.

I think it ran me around $165ish. I got it a year ago, and it looks great. 35% is the legal limit here, but I haven't had a single problem with it. When I've been pulled over, the cops have never said anything. 20 in the front and 15 in the back is what I'm going to do with my next car.

I'd go black as well. I'd also go as dark as legally permissible. Someone above seems to have the percentage thing backwards...the higher the percentage, the darker the tint. I'll be doing my black Max this summer hopefully. I think the limit in PA is 30%, which should be pretty dark.

5-10% like chillinmax said would probably look pretty tight.

Black

The silver tint on maximas looks terrible go with black...as for cops...i have a 5% on sides and rear and a 35% on my windshield...looks tight... the legal limit where i live is 15% and i havent had any problems...a cop wont pull you over for your tint "looking" illegal except for highway patrol...but hell if im gettin away with a 5% and windshield tint where a 15% is the limit i dont think youll get a hassle for a 20% if 35% is the legal limit.

I had 5% rear, 20% front doors on my last car, got hassled all the time here in IL. Decided to do 35% all around on the Max, haven't been hassled yet, and I'm pretty happy with the look (as seen in my sig). If IL wasn't such a biatch about it, I'd probably do 20% all around.

any kinda reflective tint, IMO, is pretty ghetto.
