You really need to read around. There are so many mods at your disposal, ranging from suspension, exhaust, ECU, sts, etc etc etc etc...

Its all up to you...

I would do a suspension mod, springs for instance.

depends on what you want looks or performance

looks could be body kit
perfomance could be udp, exhaust
both could be springs and shocks

Do most of you who have new springs and struts love this mod? I was really thinking along the lines of either getting a catback, an ECU, or springs and struts, but it is just so hard to decide. I will probably only wind up doing 2 more mods to my car and I am going to start going to the track this year (I've never been). The springs and struts would improve the look of my car but probably wouldn't serve much of a purpose at the track, and I really don't drive my car in such a way that would need good handling (increased handling would be kind of cool though). The ECU would definitely be awesome for the track. Hmmm, I just don't know.

how mush does the ECU really do though? I got a 97, and seen that I'd have to use a 96 ECU...but I'm just wondering how worth it it really is.
Thanks!

i think u want more performance so forget the suspension and go with performance. catback, udp, ecu & mevi, etc or save up more and get FI. go for the "sleeper" look.

I have limited my selection. I want to either go catback or ECU, which do you think I should do first? Thank you. And yes I am a 5speed.

catback is useless for the kind of money you spend on it. You might see a total of 6 hp for all that money. If you are going to do that, you need to just leave the stock cat on, replace the piping from the resonator(if you don't take it off.....if you do--it will help a little more) all the way back to the muffler with 2.5" piping like your y-pipe. This will give you the same 5-6 hp gain, withough costing hundreds. You can find a muffler shop to do it for like $50-$75 probably. I did.

I would say from what I hear, the ECU is a good idea. I wish they made one for my year. The 97's see a good gain from them.

I would personally go for some lighter wheels, and upgraded tires. I know you couldn't get both of those for that, but you could get some lighter and nicer wheels for about $500 or $600. Look for some Rotas, and the 16 and 17" are pretty light for the price. Some of them look pretty good too. Then, you can get some Falken Azenas tires and spice up the driving a lot. I would do that before your suspension(more performance, rather than looks).

You could always do a Rear Sway Bar that would help performance. You would be able to handle a lot better with that. You should be able to find one used for about $100 or new for $150 or so.

Let us know what you decide on...

Would it be bad to have Nitrous with 81,000 miles on the engine?

Do I have to tell Technosquare what mods I have on my car before they tweak the 96 ECU I give them? If so wouldn't I get a better tweaked ECU if I had more mods on before I sent it in, compared to if I just got it now and added some other mods later (would the ECU be better)?

$500 dollars for the kit. What else would I need or is that all?

Do suspension, AGXs + a nice drop would really improve handling. For the maxima, suspension is really more of a need than a want imo.
