Tear In Leather, what do I do???

I was inspecting my ride when I noticed that there was a tear in one of the backseat doors under the handle assembly piece. It is a flapper about 1/2 an inch in 2 directions. I'll try to get my hands on a digital camera to show you all, but any ideas on what I can do to fix this other than take it in to the dealer? Do they make leather repair kits?
Thanks.

Ouch... If this is on the door, I doubt it's really leather though.

Vinyl patch kits are a chancy thing, so you might want to try taking it to an auto upholstery shop and see what they say. I wouldn't attempt to fix that myself unless appearance doesn't matter.

I had a guy come in to repair a tear in a leather couch at home. Ususally he works on cars.

He said that as long as the rip is not on a seam or on a high stress area he can pretty well repair it. The smoother the cut the better too.

Talk to your prefered auto body shop. They'll likely have a guy they use to repair vehicles. Same with the dealership. They will have a guy come in to repair the upolstery in the used vehicles they receive. The guy here makes rounds to the dealerships about once a month, so it may not be a repair that can be done immediately for you. Best of luck.
