Nice vid...great times!!
That second Dodge truck was pretty quick off the line. Nice to see that your closest competition was another Nissan!

You went to the track again Ceasars? LOL...man, your RT was very good, you got all of them out of the hole. You just killed that 300ZX off the line, if not, it would have been a closer race judging by his ET. hahaha...what's up with the Eclipse? Stalled?

See you at the meet.

Ol Cease is at it again, great runs, for some reason I always especially enjoy it when a family car beats the hell out of a sportscar (Firebird) doesn't matter to me what year they are as long as you win.
Way to represent the Max dawg.

Yo Ceasar this video was funny as hell I was laughing so hard I almost fell out of the chair. The eclipse was the funniest what was he doing. Are you going to put on some slicks so we can see you get into the 13's?

nice vids like usual!

What was up with the right lane vs left lane? Was that 98-99 mph traps I saw in the right lane vs much lower traps in the left?

The right lane was better at this track on this night. He who finds traction finds inner peace, and victory ! I dreaded running in the left lane and fought for the right each time around. Just guessing but im thinking if you cant get any traction/wheel spin, which leads to -.2-.4 on your 60 ft., by the time you got moving your traps would be lower at the end ? You think ?

Spanish
Well, the fun thing last night was to beat every opponent ! I certainly shouldnt have beat the 300zx TT, I had lane advantage, and was hoping to cut a better light to battle it out at the end. I knew that his prior run was 13.7 and my work was cut out for me. Another thing was he wanted a piece of the maxima, it was great to run the Nissans. I have a friend around town with the same car. And on his good runs he can hit 13's and bad mid to low 14's. So I had a chance, I just wasnt expecting everything to go my way !

-------ceasar------300zx
rt .-----.607 -------1.380 (.500 tree)
60'-----2.12-------2.47
330----6.01-------6.57
1/8----9.21-------9.63
mph---76.17------82.07
1000--11.9-------12.2
1/4---14.30------14.43
mph--98.74------102.50

great example of how cutting a better light will help you beat a car a bit faster than yours. Reaction time alone put me .7 ahead of him. While in that run his car was only .1 slower than mine, do to poor traction in left lane. Knock his 60 foot down to 2.1, and the better reaction time still keeps the chariot .4 ahead of the 300zx. Which would give the 300zx the difficulty of racing a 14.0 second car.

imxelite
looking back over the timeslip im not sure.. his 60 foot was 4.5 so he must have stalled, spun and gunned. its amusing to see each person kinda looking at the car and thinking ha, thats a maxima , this is going to be cake. but hey those kinda things happen, in the last race against the firebird, and im guessing at that, the car was quiet and had to have a 6 under the hood, dont know. But on that last race, i missed 2-3 shift and wrestled with the car through the 1/8th and coasted in.

bk2kmax
i love nissan, dont know why but have much pride in the maxima. (4th gens) i think its cool for all of us who toss in some mods and do a number on some of the other cars. these newer cars sure seem to be fast, but for the most part we do very well against the cars in our class, and with mods the vq is fast enough to bump us up a level, and that is really fun. even if you had a bad run (14.4) in a 300zx TT you still wouldnt expect a maxima to hand you a tail kicking. in all fairness the 300zx is much faster than me and with a good run i would have been smoked !

opti
thanks, im not really sure why i put these vids up ? i think that ever since i sold our xbox, this has become my video game. lol

cumalot
yeah, they are doing this about once a month at state capitol in baton rouge. there were two toyota supras out and they were heating up the track, dont see those much. the eclipse, well i think he is learning the ropes and had big trouble off the line. man sadly enough our baby sitter cannot perform her duties this sunday (today) and we will miss the big race, another reason why i went over last night, trying to cheat destiny..lol enjoy, it would have been the best day yet.

bluesbrekr
yeah he was, i tell you the left lane will make you look bad..lol he had a 2.2 60 foot to my 2.4 ..

Ceasar the left lane really did suck. I was getting 2.49 60's in it. It was aweful. I would spin all through 1st with just a y-pipe and I would start to spin 2nd.

That track is right outside of Baton Rouge. It is about a 1/2 hour away compared to No Problem which is an hour but both lanes are good and just seems to be a better track in general. There was a lot more variety in cars especially imports. At NPR there is normally just tons of domestic v8's with cams and open headers and you can't even talk for more than a few seconds without someone reving to show off that they have a huge engine. It was refreshing to see supras, eclipses, and even a few other nissans.

The thing I love about what Cease does is that he always gives credit to the other guy, very professional, yet fun.

Go Cease and I'm glad you clipped that Z as well.

Ok I have to give mad props to you and your camera crew. You are such a great driver and without your crew we would not get the privilege to see such a devoted, not to mention stupendous, Maxima drag racer. Your videos are always the best, just like your driving. Nice work.

Ceasar:

What happened to your ETs? Your MPHs are super high, but your ETs seemed to be all over the place. Concerning the "slower" MPHs in the left lane, my track is like that on some occasions too. Sometimes is reads 3mph slower than the right lane even though the 1/4 mile ETs and 1/8 mile MPHs are the same between the two. I've learned that ETs can be accurately measured, but trap speed seems to be something that the timing machines can sometimes mess up. I've run a 14.5@93mph with a 2.2 60' and then went into the next lane and ran a 14.5@97mph with a 2.2 60' with absolutely nothing changed other than the lane

Ceasars: you missed one heck of a meet. I think we had 12 Maximas total. All were 4th gens too. It was a great meet. Well worth the drive.

i have the stock clutch, and most all the NA mods for the max, i may get the mevi/jwt ecu setup in the future.

i was a bit rough on the shifting this last time out and the shifting feels a bit different and when moving the shifter from left to right a little farther than normal i hear a metal like noise like its hitting up against something. (especially when moving the shifter far right)

so im thinking all the power shifting and missing a 2-3 shift and fighting it in has possibly bent something.

any ideas ? car still runs just the shifting seems a bit used (LOL) .

You power shift?!?! I didn't know that. If that is the case, then you probably did bend something when missing the gear. That's the main reason I granny shift. I just can't afford breaking the tranny for the .1-.15 I'd drop from power shifting. Definately get your tranny checked out and tell them what happened. They need to know that you do race the car because it make it easier for them to determine the problem.

well i say power shift but not actually (if this means shifting without lifting up on the gas) im just shifting fast as i can get the car to shift, and it that process i suppose you would hit each gear with more force than just kicking back.

dave - dont let me hear of you racing with that tool box in your car again ! lol !

yeah power shifting is not letting the gas up.

After going to the meet yesterday it seems that alot of people do it in their Maximas.

I don't personally see the point. No good for the car. People are powershifting for that tenth of a sec when they could prolly get the same ET reduction by taking about their seats which takes a VERY time consuming 10 mins.
Just IMO.
