Suspension Clunking/Creaking
Suspension Clunking/Creaking
Recently I think something has gone wrong with my suspension. Heres the deal: One day I noticed a loud creaking while turning the steering wheel, thought nothing of it...just a little annoyance. Now, its gotten pregressively worse and the creaking is louder, and I am beginning to hear a clunking when turning, and accleration/deceleration. The clunking sounds like the suspension isnt bolted on, just flopping around....usualy clunks when theres some kind of suspension movement (accelleration/deceleration), and is noticable when I slowly start accelerating. Does anyone know what I should look at, and what are some diagnostic tips? (oh BTW, it *sounds* like its coming from the front drivers side)
I dont think its a CV. It creaks and clunks even when at a complete stop, and regardless of the engine being on or off. No grinding sound, just like a metal-metal squeak and a somewhat frequent hollow clunk like the suspension is loose
I'm not sure if it's the only thing but, it sounds like your strut bearings bad. Here's something to read.
