Speaker wires from doors to the body
Speaker wires from doors to the body
i know this belongs in the audio/electronics section, but i need an answer asap, and i figured i'll get faster response here...
to everyone who has an aftermarket installed system..
where/how did u run the wires from the speakers behind ur door panels to the head unit? did u run it thru the black rubber that covers all the wires going from the body to the door? if so, how the hell do u remove it?
thanks in advance..

I have read of people drilling holes large enough for the speaker wire to fit, and then inserting a grommet so the insulation of the speaker wire will not be damaged from the burrs on the hole. cover your exposed speaker wire from body to door with the plastic conduit
i really don't want to drill holes...
all i need is a solution for the front doors, cuz the rear doors do not use a bolt to attach the rubber insulation from door to body, whereas the front door does
in the case of the rear doors, i can just pry out both ends of the rubber insulation from the door and body with my hands
for the front doors, i can only pry out by hand the end going into the door, the part going into the body is attached by a bolt, whcih is really hard to get unscrew...

I haven't gone through this yet, but I believe there is a wiring harness that plugs INTO the door from the body of the car, thus you cannot piggyback the wires with your speaker wire.
That is the reason why you need to drill a hole or find another hole for speaker entry. I do not know this for sure, just going off what I have read. I haven't ventured off in to the car audio spectrum yet on my ride.

I snuck my wire in through a little hole in the grommet. I had to go through the fire wall to get into the engine bay. From there I fished it from the fender put some wire loom and stuck it in a small hole I pocked in the rear of the grommet. I say rear so you won't see it too much when the door is open. I've had it like this for a while with my seperates.
I refused to drill holes in the Max. I simply used the existing factory wiring at the harness behind the deck. The wire is more than big enough for the amount of power most people run to their mids. I'll be running either 85w or 170w to my comps up front. The stock wiring will be sufficient.
