Is it possible to upgrade to climate control by just changing the console or is there more work? (if its even possible)

 

it's possible but not worth the hassle

 

PTP it can be done to get a good knowledge of just how much work there is, take a look in the 3rd gen forums for the guy who did it on the 3rd gen. It took him 2 days, and he had 2 people and a really good knowledge of car electronics.
