just installed illuminas and tein h tech

Finally got my h-tech and illuminas installed. What a differnece in the ride. No more ugly wheel gap. I have the illuminas set at three in the front and rear and that seems to be working great. Just wondering what everyone else who has the illuminas has them set at? Also will post some pics as soon as i get a day off and i get someone to host them for me. If someone can host the pics for me please let me know. Also will be getting my wheels and tires in the next few days. So i can post before and after pictures as well. Thanks

lv6speedmax - I know you'll love this combo. I've only had my Illuminas a few weeks (paired with Progress) and I love it. I'm currently running 2F/3R but am considering going back to 3F/4R since handling is notably improved with the increased stiffness. However the ride on 2F/3R is so good friends of mine couldn't tell a difference in the ride - and these guys are by no means enthusiasts who would tolerate a rough ride.

I'll be glad to host the pics. Ship em over to housecor@hotmail.com. But don't send more than 1 meg at a time so my Hotmail limit doesn't flip out.

Good call on the purchase!

Hey man, I'd highly recommend saving yourself a few bucks and doing the install yourself. It's timeconsuming, but pretty easy with the right tools. I did the install myself and had no big problems. Check out my how-to at www.innerbean.com/housecor

I don't have any tools available on hand. Plus, my parents don't know I am doing this so I'd rather have a trained professional doing the install for me. Plus, I don't want to be screwing with something that could risk getting messed up.

Hah! Hey, I've been there... but aren't you worried they might notice your car is suddenly sitting lower??

I assume you mean can you use the stock struts with the H-techs? If so, then yes, you can do so but your struts won't last very long. It will likely be no more than a year before you're bouncing all over because the struts will be worn out and unable to control the springs motion. I'd recommend upgrading to an aftermarket strut ASAP. And thanks!

They won't notice. They just get in and out of the car, and if they do notice, I'll just have to break it to them.

Price

If you don't mind me asking, how much was the complete setup? I am thinking of getting some springs along with some shocks and not sure what is the best.

pictures should be up as soon as housecor can post them for me. As far as price the springs were about 180 and the illuminas were 475 shippped from southwestautoworks. Worth every penny in my mind. My ride is great, stable and handleing is 10 times better. Drop is moderate, looks great, and best of all no more ugly wheel gap.

Here is lv6speedmax's drop:

Looks great! Very even. Hey man, I'd also like to use the second shot in the spring comparison gallery I'm creating. Could you measure the distance from the ground to the center of your fender on the front and the back?

rated at 1.6 in front and 1.0 in the rear. Honestly i think they dropped a little more than that. The s techs i thought might have been a little too low for my liking. But i like the h techs drop, it was just where i wanted it to be and it got rid of the ugly wheel gap.

that is the best drop i've seen for a 5th gen yet. Not too ghetto low like S-techs and not barely noticeable like Maxspeeds

this is coming from a guy with GC's, by far the WORST coilover setup out there....

my maxspeeds are definitely lower than his h-techs

but hey it dont matter cuz they're gonna get swapped out for some JIC's anyway.....

homie, when your car runs properly and you're not running a ghetto hooptie spring setup, come holla at the kid

When it comes to choice of lowering springs, people sure do catch feelings!

As for your drops, both lv and wojowojo, i think they look fantastic, and have me drooling to put my h.tech/illumina combo on soon...nice work!

If your Maxspeed drop is so low, why'd did you have to Photoshop your sig to make it look like your car is tucked? And pretending to have 19's?

Real life:

Fantasy world sig:

You should mention under your sig that it is a Photoshop of what you wish your Maxspeed drop looked like instead of trying to convince people your 1.4F 1.3R drop is so low.

my sig is chopped...and what???

dude...do me a favor...spend HALF of what I have on mods and then holla bish...

let's start with my $4k worth of audio equipment, $2000 BBS chrome forged rims and stillen kit that should be outside my front doorstep at this very moment...

when you can touch HALF of what I spent and will continue to spend then holla bro..until then you are just a

oh and btw...I was and prolly still am getting JIC's and you'll see a REAL drop, not the progress wanna be eibachs u lil

No one cares about what you do to your car, since you act like such an a$$hole to a lot of users on this board. You put people down for their choice of brand or mod because they are "gay" (the little pink guy), when your mods aren't really all that different. So keep spending and acting like people give a damn, and with any luck you'll be banned again soon......real soon.

Hopefully this thread can continue on topic, as there are a lot of 5th gen guys who still need to lower their cars, and with the H.Tech pics just now rolling in from those who have installed them, it can be a valuable resource to see if this is the right spring for them.

I to the amount you've spent on mods, but I never claimed to have more mods than you. You win this contest hands down.

let's start with my $4k worth of audio equipment, $2000 BBS chrome forged rims...
You mean the $2000 rims that you have to Photoshop to fill your wheel well?

oh and btw...I was and prolly still am getting JIC's and you'll see a REAL drop, not the progress wanna be eibachs u lil
So my 1.7F 1.5R Progress drop is but your 1.4F 1.3R Maxspeed drop is somehow better? Am I missing something here?

The .org is here so Maxima owners can help each other out - so why do you try to convince eveyone to buy Maxspeeds when you supposedly plan to dump them for JIC's which offer a "real drop?" Isn't this proof you're not happy with your Maxspeeds?

Nonetheless, all this discussion would be avoided altogether if you would offer worthwhile advice and assitance to .orgers instead of ripping on anyone who chooses different mods than yours and misleading people with manipulated photos.

Consider yourself

CCx..I didn't get banned for owning newbs like you, I got banned for taking **** to the personal confrontational level, which I have promised to leave off the org and will keep to that...

housecor-I bought my maxspeeds for NYC travel back and forth-I know I know NYC is a far cry from Kansas

my choice for going JIC isn't cuz my maxspeed drop is wack, its cuz I want a FULL 3" SLAM WHILE RETAINING SOME SORT OF RIDE COMFORT-remember this is pothole capital, NYC, not dirt road Kansas here

and my upgrade will come because I can somewhat justify the cost of the JICs now, better than b4

I dont even know what that means....your level of intelligent communication seems to be so far from mine (the direction of which I'm pretty sure of, but don't want to speculate in case you're really a super-genius parading around as a moron) that your comments don't even make sense. Enjoy your day
