Question about weight reduction?

I've never asked this question or even wondered about it, but how do you go about reducing the weight of your car? I saw HLH0501's Max and it was about 2800 lbs.

Make up your own mind as to what you want to remove. This list simply lets you know what you can expect to lose for what you can decide to 86.

Unless you're racing, non essential parts, radio, ac, glass (replace with polycarbonate) stuff not necessary for the safe operation of your "race prep" car

i dont get the gd point here. someone help me.

why would u choose a MAXIMA as a RACE car and try to REDUCE weight to make it FASTER. why not just get something that is more for racing. like a 300zx or something.

people buy a family sedan and try to make it a 12 sec drag car or the ultimate machine in handling.

i mean, addin performance mods or a supercharger is understandable. but tryin to reduce weight by takin out the luxury parts of the car and strippin it down is pretty GAY. get something else and work ur way from there.

some people love to annoy themselves.

its like grabbin a 5 foot ladder and tryin to climb up a wall 10 feet high

Because they already own the Maxima. And if you can't add something useful, then shut up and start your own thread entitled "Why I think it's gay to reduce the overall weight of your Maxima"

how about i take a DOUBLE DECKER BUS. lower it 5 inches. reduce weight. add a turbo system and buncha handlin mods and take it in for auto crossin.

all that just cuz i already own a double decker bus

and i didnt say that reducing overall weight is gay. doing GAY things to reduce weight is GAY.

such as taking out bose system. or taking out all the seats in the car except the drivers seat. or even takin out all the door panels and stuff like that. simply gay. if u wanna go that far, change the freakin car and dont give ur self a headache

He never said anything about turning his car into a RACE car in the original post. Im sure he wanted to know because he probably knows that a lighter car will move quicker, and if there is easy ways to make the car light (without removing the luxuries) he would probably want to jump on that. Afterall, it is free.

I don't drive with a spare tire when Im around town. I also use a lightweight battery. I am also buying light weight rims. I must be GAY because I am turning my Maxima into a RACE Maxima.

I'm always on the lookout for easy ways that don't sacrifice luxuries to make my Max lighter. I'm sure INICEMAX already knew that his Max would be lighter by removing a seat, radio, door, etc...

I'd like to see the size of the RSB needed to control body roll on a Double Decker bus.

The reason why is what if that double decker bus smokes a corvette .get the idea . I know a guy who does weight reduction on a 5000lb lighting ,because at the track or street he will pull on a viper like nothing.
My maxima weighs 2735lbs its never a headache its a challenge and fun.
