UPS man just dropped these off about 30 min ago. Decided to take a few quick pics and post them up. I just might have to install them this evening.

1st time I've seen these...they look great...

 

I bought them from Avalon Racing. Paul is a great guy to work with and I would recommend him to anyone.

Well, I just got finished installing them and I'm tired! Took 4 hours start to finish with 2 floor jacks and regular hand tools. That included install and then adjusting the height. I wasn't able to get a good picture after I was done because it started to thunder and lightning out. I did get to take it around the block real quick and the ride is amazing. body roll is almost gone, it holds a curve like no tomorrow, and still gives a good ride. You do feel most of the bumps in the road but it comfortable and not harsh. I can't wait to take it out tomorrow to really see what she will do. My first impression is that they are worth every penny I paid for them. Here are two install pics and I'll try and get a few of the car tomorrow. There is 0 finger gap front and rear, with the front still a tad lower.

Get some pics with the wheels on. Only thing I don't like is the color...kinda "rainbow flag" if you know what I mean.

 

Now whats the difference between these and Illuminas? Adjust the height and not just the ride quality?

BTW how much did you get them for? I'm looking into Tein/Illuminas because they're a lot cheaper but these might be worth spending the extra $$ on in the long run.

They are not in the same class. Illuminas vs JIC is like comparing an Acura RSX with an NSX, they are both performance orientated cars but not in the same class. But yes, they are both cars.... kind of see what I'm trying to say?

For most people, it's just not worth it for them to spend that kind of money on suspension. It's worth it to some, but may not be for others. Everyone places value on mods differently.

 

looks awesome.. interesting that there are 2 maximas in the same city with JICs. haha.. gotta meet up soon.

The height adjustment isn't that hard but time consuming. You have to jack the car up, remove tire, remove the coilover from the lower mounting point, adjust, and then put back together. It took me quite a few time on the front. The dampening is adjusted at the top of each coilover with an allen tool that they include.

I'm running 17x8s with 235/45-17. The drop would even look better with 18s or 19s. I need to get an alignment done in the next few days. So far is still tracks straight going down the road but the steering wheel is a tad bit to the right.

what setting are you running?

 

Right now i'm setting at 24 1/4 all around. If anything, i may just bring the front up a little.

 

Does anyone know what the major differences are between the Tein SS coilovers and these? The Tein's have a 16way adjustability and these are 5 I think. The prices are almost identical too. Anyone know?

 

You have to use the stock upper mount with the Teins. That means no pillow ball mount and no camber plate. Also, the ride height on the Teins are adjusted at the spring perch which changes the spring rate and takes away from suspension travel. JIC's adjust at the lower mount giving you full suspension travel at all times.

It's really hard to say since I haven't been able to mess with the dampening settings yet. There is a big difference from selecting full hard and pushing down on the car and full soft doing the same. Everything is set at 4 for the moment and it is pretty stiff. I feel most of the bumps and imperfections in the road but they are still not harsh. I'm very happy with the ride so far. I may adjust it down over the next few days just to see the difference. If I do, I'll give you a PM.

 

MaxSe-compared to teins, and what you have the JIC's set at now, can you make a good comparison as to road harshness?

 

You feel more of the road but they are not as harsh as the Teins. There is some road construction going on down the road from my work. There are a few spots were they stopped the new pavement at the old and there is a step up. With the Teins, it would hit it pretty hard and felt like something was going to break. The JIC's just go over it without a problem. You still feel it, but the harshness isn't there.

 

Is it worth the money to go A2? why would you need 15 way for the streets?

I am very curious, as I am palnning on getting new rims and the A1 (or A2 if its worth the price difference)
