Newbie 1st post some questions

Hey what's up
I just bought a 2003 maxima. It is a 5th generation I believe. We don't have the 6th gen here, so even 2004 maximas look the same. I am sure there are a few members from the UAE on this board as there are thousands of maximas here. I have a VQ30D engine and has a claimed 227 hp matched with a 5 speed tranny. It is pretty quick, not nearly as quick as my Jeep but still moves prety good. Anyway I am thinking of putting chrome 20s on it. How much performance do you lose this way? Also I want to lower it a bit. Are Eibach springs a good option?
Thanks
later
ps do you have to have a host to post a pic or is there another way?

Welcome to the .org. 20s will greatly slow your accelleration and (in my opinion only) are a little silly looking on a maxima. I prefer 18s (or 19s at most) for aftermarket. From what I have seen, you have very good roads in UAE, so Eibachs should be fine. If the roads are rough, you might want to try H&R or Tein H-Tech springs with Tokico Illumina (adjustable) struts.

damn your maxima is NOT as quick as your jeep? What kind of Jeep do you have!!!!!!????!!!!!

Wait, you have a 2003 with a VQ30 and a 5 spd?
Nissan went to the VQ35 and a 6 speed in 2002.

btw most of us host our pics on www.cardomain.com

It's free and easy to use. You can set up your own car homepage there and customize it - or just use the page to host pics....

Thanks
Roads here are about as good as they get so i should have no trouble with the rims (hopefully). The pic posted by soonerfan is exactly my car but mine is pearl white and has a BMW M3 or M5 spoiler on the back (very small). IT is a bit pimp because it has chrome rear view mirrors and chrome ouline around the tailights. I will be adding the 20' Asanti (lexani) Zebras next month along with the eibachs so I will post a pic then. It will be chromed out haha. I have a pic of it now but no host. I might sign up some day.

damn your maxima is NOT as quick as your jeep? What kind of Jeep do you have!!!!!!????!!!!!

As far as my Jeep goes it is a 98 Grand Cherokee with a 5.9 liter (360). It has a performance ecu, K&N fipk intake, single plane Mopar performance manifold, Leech headers and 3" exhaust through a magnaflow, APS 52 mm Throttle body, Mopar performance ECU, and msd ignition, transgo shift kit. Oh yeah I also run a 100 shot of NOS.
Without the NOS I can run very low 14s consistantly. With NOS 13 flat. I haven't been out to the track for a while but I am sure with some more weight reduction, less humidity and cooler weather I can dip into the 12s. Oh yeah that Jeep is my wife's daily driver.
If anyone want to host pics of my stock maxima I will send them.

Yeah WITHOUT NOS it is rated at about 305hp but most important is the 410 lb ft of torque.
1.9 second 60' without gas
1.6 second 60' with the giggle gas. Nothing touches me across the intersection haha 4wd full time.

Now we need to make this Nissan fast without my wife finding out.

Judging by your Jeep, you will have more mods on your "MaxFinity" in a month than anyone on the org has put on in years!

Wait a minute, you are a Canadian PE teacher? They must pay better in UAE than they do here!
