Updated homepage w/pics of tinted I30 tails, new gunmetal rims, etc.!!

I've had these rims on my car for a few months but haven't been able to clean the car and get good pics since then. I recently tinted my taillights with the spray that Dave B used on his car (some Japanese company). I still need to paint my brake calipers black...but I'm real lazy. What do you guys think?

There are many more pics on my homepage. Feel free to leave feedback or rate my car....

Looks good for the most part. I would suggest the AE'd cefiro headlights, get all your chrome dipped in black chrome and your car would look awsome.

Those tinted tails make it look a little like a 3rd gen. I agree on the headlight thing, those AE style headlights would look sweet, car already looks great.

Funny you guys mention silver caliper paint. I originally bought silver paint, but I sold it to a friend because I thought black ones would match the black theme better. Lately I've been questioning wether the black would even be visible enough to even warrant the effort.

I do plan on either getting the blacked out Cefiro lights, or doing the AE mod to mine. Just a matter of time/money.

And yes, the tails do make it look like a 3rd gen a little. I've always thought the same thing.

Ok guys....I had a crazy idea. I could progressively tint my headlights darker from the outside in- to where the corner lights meet with the headlights. It wouldn't be 100% dark at the outside, more like 65%, then fade to 20% or so by the headlight. I might want to incorporate some sort of eyelid into this, but I'm not sure how to yet.

Seems like a pretty universal idea that I should get the AE headlights going on ASAP, right? What about the brake caliper paint color? I don't want the stock calipers to stick out too much. Who has other ideas as to what else on the car I can make black? What are some ideas for the side mirrors?

Looks real good. I love the tails and may copy you. looks like you tinted the whole rear, not just the corners right? Very nice clean look. Good choice on the wheels, they fit the look of the I perfectly. It's nice to see nicely moded I30's.

I'm not feeling it with your tail light. It looks like a 3rd gen maxima. Whatever it floats your boat.

I like the front grill. As for that blackout spray, leave it on long enough and you will wish you never touched it.

Well, the tint did dry darker than I had wished, but there isn't much I can do about that now. I wish I could remove a little bit of it evenly, but I don't know how I would do that.

Yes, it can be very unforgiving and when it fades (which it will) the headaches really start. You will notice unevenness and trying to re-spray and fix the fading is almost impossible.

I also received a ticket for my tails as well. Apparently when you use the spray there is good chance you will ruin the reflective property of your tails, something they are required to have. That spray is VERY stubborn and I had zero luck getting it off with anything other then sandpaper.

I did like the way it looked when I had it but it ended up being more trouble then it was ever worth.

Which spray did you use? Dave B said you could probably remove this spray with some nail polish remover and your fingernails. How long did yours take to start fading? I don't think I messed with the reflective stuff because they are very visable in pics when the flash caught them.

Thanks for all the comments guys.

Thanks man. I had 18's on for a while, but these 17s are lighter, cheaper, and ride better.

If the roads around me weren't so bad, I would love to get some lightweight 18's again. I don't know if I could live with 19's, but GOD they would look awesome. And yeah, a bodykit would be nice, but I want to focus on performance more right now.

I highly advise against ever touch any plastic parts with nail polish remover. It melts plastic surface so it'll never shine again. Also, I'm a newbie and just bought a 01' SE AE 5 Speed and live in Maryland also. Is there a local Max Club or shop that sells parts at good price. I do all my labor. So I don't need mechanic.

Love those Jap cars!!!!

Wow, that's looks really good. Should really consider the AE Cefiro's for sure. It would go with the tails much better. Keep up the great work!

I've done it multiple times. It works fine. The chemical in finger nail polish remover is acetone. It will remove the paint without causing clouding to the plastic like paint thinner will. All it takes is finger nail polish remover, a good terry cloth towel, and some elbow grease to take the smoke paint off. It takes a little while, but it will come off. My brake lights used to be tinted years ago and I removed the paint. They shine fine:

95Maxrider, the ride looks good

I've been trying to think of other cosmetic ideas for my car. Can anybody do a PS job of what a CF hood and AE headlights would look like? A 1" drop in front wouldn't hurt either...

Well, it doesnt LOOK too low. I think it would look MAD wicked if it were lower. My ride is pretty smooth boy. But mine CANT do 160mph.

Do you mean OEM as in US-stock parts, or more like "JDM" original parts? Does that question even makes sense? Sorry....

Bijan- I agree that if the front were a little lower it would look awesome, but with H&R's and 2 12" subs in the back, it's tough to make it level without getting too harsh. And yes, you're correct that your car will never come close to 160. Bish . I'm pretty sure that I have undisputed evidence that I am the fastest Maxima- ever.

Oh, and if somebody wants to do that PS job....would you mind changing the color to a shade of gunmetal like on the 2k2 Maximas? Yeah, that would be awesome.....
