car chokes and dies... boggs down on freeway, any ideas?
well, it's not my maxima, but it's my coworker's 95 Altima. I feel bad for him because I think his mechanic is ripping him off. He's taken his car back 3 times and had various things changed yet the problem still persists.
Basically, at low RPM, his car would choke and die. He said when he's on the freeway, or driving at high-speed, the car would choke/bog down. Any ideas? He's gotten the usual maintenance done a month or two ago... sparks and all.
He just got his alternator replaced because it was making a noise but the mechanic couldn't figure out what the choking problem could be
I just wanted to tell him some ideas on what the problem could be and have him start looking for another mechanic.
thanks guys

does he have a CEL? maybe manually pull the code and see waz up...
that happened to my car serval times when my engine coolant temperature sensor died. it could be one of the factor.
tell ur friend check up on altima forum, maybe people over there can help him out.

coolant temperature sensor/bad maf/fuel pump failing/overheating(?happening to my friends SHO, car stalls dies randomly) invalid CPS reading, super clogged fuel filter... im just randomly naming things that could cause the car to turn off....
Might be better to pull the codes like someone said above :P
