looking for thoughts on 96-98 I30T Manual VLSD tranny

hey, i wanted to know what the thoughts are on these transmission from the infiniti drivers who have them.

I have a 97 maxima and will be replacing the tranny soon. I want the (VLSD) and wanted to know if there have been any problems with any year models so i can try to find the best possible one for me. (example: 98 better than 96)

thanks in advance

Like maxima's, we have bearing failure problems. I was a victim last summer.

If you get a used 5spd VSLD I30 tranny make sure the bearings are checked before you throw that sucker in there.

The VSLD in the I30 is not the best in the world. It's not a true 50/50, it's like a 70/30. I can notice it when cornering hard but I don't think it does much as far as getting better 60 foots or anything
