Hey whats up all.. I am getting a new 2004 max in a few days (this comming mon or tuesday) and I am looking to do some mods eventually and have a few questions...

1. What is the diff between wet and dry NOS and what are the different effects on the motor between the two?

2. Besides an intake, what other mods should be done before hand?

3. How many miles would you guys wait until using the nos? (break in period)

4. I am only looking for a small jump in power (35 shot or maybe even slightly smaller) what kind of wear n' tear on the motor would that create with minimal usage?

And also, anyone got a 2004 max with nos?

You can put a pretty hefty shot on this engine if the kit is setup correctly.

A dry kit is pretty difficult to install on this vehicle because of it's fuel system setup. You're better off using a NX or Zex wet kit. The stock fuel pump will support upto a 125 shot and you can run upto a 75 or 100 shot on the stock heat plugs.

I live in NY, Long island to be exact.... How intensive is the installation? I would imagine its not that difficult, anyone got any suggestions as to what other mods to do before installing the nos?

 

I would leave it stock and shoot and go. At the track you'll need sticky tires and some rear end reinforcement to keep the sag away from the dig, but other than that keep it light on the street and enjoy. No need to worry about the engine.

 

I have also thought about getting nitrous for my 6th gen, unfortunately even with the new tires on 19s I still cant get better than 2.3. Either the car grips hard and bogs or it breaks loose and spins a lot. I just need some 17s with radials so I can launch hard and keep traction. nitrous would be fun though if the install isnt to complicated.
