i dont know if its all the max's but it seem that way. my car eats way toooo much gas and plus the gas prices are going up . can any one tell the best way to maximize my gas per galon . does that fuel injection cleaner really works. thnx..

don't drive it too hard, keep it below 3k rpm, check your tire pressure, etc. read that thread and hopefully something'll help.

 

clean throttle body, run injector cleaner, run seafoam, is your fuel filter good?, is your air filter clean?

 

damn man u need some grammar classes.

yes the injector cleaners do really work if ur injectors are really dirty. try a bottle of chevron with techron, a second treatment of that one is not bad either. use the link given to u, alot of things u can do. changing the fuel filter could possibly help too

My past tank I got 215 miles but I was driving very hard also. Still that is kinda extreme. I'm beginning to think that my EGR valve and tube is clogged up a bit. A clogged EGR causes bad gas milage right? Does it stand for Exhaust Gas Recycling?

One of the common overlooked poor gas mileage causes are O2 sensors. They get weak over time and cause poor mileage and performance. Don't wait for the CEL to tell you it's dead, replace them if your performance & MPG are poor.

 

broaner22, I like the new wheels. I don't know if they are new or just your summer wheels, but they are definitely better than the honeycombs you had on there.

Maxima99SEBose, your new sig pic looks great! Are you going to paint your wheels yourself like that? I like how you left the polished lip around the outside. I have been thinking about doing something similar myself. That lip on there looks awesome. Plus, the red calipers help a lot. I think it looks well, styled, but subtle. Plus, you can never go wrong with the Sterling Mist...it is nice.

antkiev, I don't know what kind of mileage you are expecting, but there is a 2-year-old thread on this forum talking about gas mileage....it is probably the one that Jepht20 sent you to. Anyway, we don't typically get more than about 21 or so in town if you drive it fun at all. I mean, you can probably get like 25-27 if you granny drive it, but you will not be having fun with your max. A max will not get in the 30's regularly....get it out of your head.

 

My tints are 20% and the rims are new. I love the rims. My ability to accelerate out of a turn has greatly improved, the look is improved by a factor of 10 and the acceleration hasn't been hurt at all. I like 20% but it a little to light for my liking. I might redo it to 15% but that won't be for a while seeing as I'm now contemplating changing my 02 sensors. My Auterra OBD II scanner is coming in Monday so I will spend my spring break installing that and poly filling my engine mounts. So once I get the auterra working I will pay close attention to my 02 sensors. njmaxseltd, what voltage values for the 02 sensors signify that they are getting old or worn?

don't neglect your tire pressure either. the other week, i was getting $hitty gas mileage, so I thought about the tire pressure. turns out to be, my driver-side rear tire had about 11psi! gas mileage went back to normal after that.
