98- timing belt or chain?

I can't find any info as to whether my 98 has a timing belt or a chain? If its a belt, when does it need to be changed?

thanks!

I have a 98 GXE and the dohc engine. This is a chain. If you a sohc, that would be a belt.

Actually, all VQ engines have a timing chain. It is the VG motors that have the timing belts. However despite what most think, replacing your chain can be nec. If you have too much chain lash your engine will suffer. But there again, we are talking the difference of 60 and 200k or so, depending on use.
