do 99s have a knock sensor?

Shortly after replacing one in my 98, I sold the car. I bought a 99 and looked in the engine bay, but there is a different setup on the block than on my 98. Is there a KS somewhere down there? If there is, how the f do you get to it?

yes there's gotta be a knock sensor on your 99. if it's not under the intake manifold, it's probably somewhere else. just gotta look for it...

there's no way a 4th gen doesn't have a KS on their car.

Mansurxk is right, the KS is right behind the swirl vlve and under the manifold.

It's under the lower intake manifold, about center on the engine. According
to the Haynes Manual, you have to pull both manifolds to get to it. I just
did another post on that same subject (getting in w/o removing the
manifolds) so take a look at that thread. I'm hoping someone has a
neat trick.

I remember someone created a super tool...it had all kinds of extensions and stuff...but I can't search. Find a donor and ask them to.

Another thing...
I tried to run some codes from the ECU, but guess what... there is no screw to turn in there like ther was on my 98. WTF!?
Car feels sluggish. It might be partly due to the large/heavy wheels, but still. Do I need to go to Autozone to get the codes or what?
