For those who made fun of my fire extinguisher so-called "mod"
....here's another one to make fun of...
I now officially have the safest maxima in the world....
Fire extinguisher "mod"
Mag-lite "mod"
and the new "First-aid kit mod"
ok...I know others have done this too, but here's a couple shots of where I mounted it...also moved the fire extinguisher to the left of where it was so as not to block cargo as much. The first aid kit I painted black so it would blend in....

Ha Ha thats awsome, I don't know why people would be making fun of these "mods" but I can see "them" really become useful if situation requires. I remember on the Xterra commercial that "First aid kit" was actually a option that can be added.
I like it~
I like it~
nothing wrong with it, i think it's good to be prepare for something unexpected. I got a first aid kit mounted on the wall opposite from where the tire jack is. I have a question about your trunk deck lid liner. Where did you get that done. I want the same thing done on my trunk lid.
trunk lid deck liner? not sure what you're referring to, but besides the "safety" additions, all that trunk stuff is OEM, to my knowledge. What part do you mean, specifically?
like i posted earlier - as far as I know it's OEM - the clips that hold it fit into holes that appear to be original parts of the trunk.. You don't have a trunk liner, it's just metal frame?
i dont have that liner either!! just the metal frame. i was looking at a guys car yesterday. GLE like mine and he had it. he also had sunroof, TCS, and heated seats that i dont have.
same maybe all that was part of package?

actually, you should get a custom fur-lined trunk liner. PIMP!

Serious questions
Where did you get the fire ext?
Is it an A/B/C ext?
How often should it be charged?
How did you mount it? Is there a kit for it?
First aid kit you got at Home Depot...did you just screw it into the liner or use some other method to mount it?
People might laugh, but my buddy in high school was a ambulance chaser (he like the excitment I guess) but put all kinds of medical stuff in his blazer, including an ext. Well one day (like I would ever have this kind of luck) a REALLY hot/sweet looking blonde's car was smoking. He lifted the hood of course an engine fire...pulled out the Ext...long story short...he is now married to her....of all the stinkin luck...

personally i would have gone with this first aid kit. just attaches to the side of your trunk liner with velcro.

and, that's very clean (the first aid kit). I like how it's kinda out of the way.
only foolish people put the fire extinuisher on the a-pillar on the passenger side so it can be ejected in an accident. is it a halon?
1. Opening the hood on a car that's on fire is a bad idea. Ever see Backdraft when the guy opens the door with the trapped fire?
2. If your car's on fire, IMO it's pretty foolish to walk around back of it, pop the trunk, unbolt an extinguisher, then risk trying to extinguish the fire while standing right next to the car! Think about what happens if that fire is near a fuel line..or the gas tank...especially if the fuel pump stays on...your life is more important than your car's (although some of you will disagree!)
On the other hand, it's great for putting out other people's fires... like when your buddy is doing a DIY amp install...or uses a half bottle of charcoal lighter on a portable grill...

IceY2k - hah yeah I'm gonna have it triple-plated chromed...I'll have the most bling extinguisher out there!
Colonel - extinguisher bought at home depot also...its a "Kiddie" brand and is specifically for cars (chemical extinguisher)
Paralyse - not bolted on, just has a tension strap of sorts. You can pull it out with no effort at all but it is held securely when not pulled. Yeah and it's more for "other" fires - not really for my own car specifically.
Themaxx - yeah I saw your setup before - I like it too cept my 4-D mag won't fit there (it's up front) and I keep a tool box in that notch of the trunk already with tools, tie-downs (for putting stuff on the roof rack), shop towels, etc...)
The FA kit is bolted to the trunk frame with 2 self-tapping screws and BIG washers...when it closes it tucks into the side of the trunk so doesn't get in the way of big cargo...
yeah I was kidding about "safest" max...I know others have all of these things already, plus roll cages, etc....But once I put reflective yellow striping all over the car, THEN I will be the safest

you sure about that? My 2k has one and has specific holes in the trunk sheet metal to accommodate the mounting clips...it came that way and the holes are definitely OEM....my car was bone stock when I bought it last year, not sure why the dealer would have put the liner in just for the hell of it.

lol I love how in the list of what's in Nissan's kit it has
"1 maxi-pad feminine napkin"
hah is that for nosebleeds?

Well at least we are poking fun in a friendly manner. I'd rather poke fun at a "safety" mod in a Max than, say, a Texas shotgun mod.
