I replaced the hood struts on my maxima (same as the i30) for $20 at advanced auto. I cannot remember how they came off, but I remember it taking a few minutes to figure out the attachment mechanism.

The $20 replacements have a lifetime warranty, so you cannot go wrong there.

I also have to replace the struts. Any recommendations on which one to get?

Thanks.

Do you mean hood struts, or suspension struts?

If hood struts, read my last post. If suspension struts, post a new thread, please.

Thanks for the info. I found couple through Advance Auto Parts online. But, there's only one (Strong Arm 4542) that offers any warranty and it's only for one year. The other being Arvin Exhaust E072862, which offers none. Which one did you get that offers lifetime warranty?

In addition, I'm in California and there's like only one Advance Auto Parts store west of Colorado. So, if I get it from there...I'd have to order it online.

Thanks.
