Is this possible 2002-2003 Navigation Unit in a 2000???
Really boarded here, and since I don't have the option to search old threads, I came up with this mind boggiling question. I am wondering if it's in anyway possible to take out a navigation unit from a 2002/2003 Maxima and put it into a 2000???
1. Is it possible
2. What would you need
3. How much would it cost
4. Has it been done

Well it's possible but people go aftermarket because the stock is integrated system along with the stereo, and then you need to get all the wiring, antenna and who knows what else. and knowing nissan, they probably have a proprietary plug for every thing (bose deja vu).
i don't think anyone has had the chance to play with a wrecked 02 with navi yet and see what the deal with it is.

The dealer said that it is possible ,but it need a lot of works and it will cost $4000.
So this is not the mod that you want to do.If you ever get lost go to any gas station and ask for map.
I would say go with DVD player.

Why do this? You can get a aftermarket unit like the Garmin Streetpilot 2620 with built hard drive which covers the entire United States. The 02/03 Navi is cd based and only covers limited regions per CD with additional CD's costing a couple hundred dollars. Not worth it at all.
