*Sigh* Hope i don't get flame for this but, i search the stickys for about 30minutes for a topic on this and could not find one. I don't know if that means that no one has done it or it cannot be done.

Does anyone know if its possible and how to Install heat seats into a Max that has never had heated seats.

Lets say your Max has regular cloth or leather seats (powered ofcourse) And you bought some new seats(heated), providing you have the switches how do you do the conversion?

I just did the swap a few weeks ago after my friend totalled his max. As I was swapping out the seats, I cut all the harnesses out from under the seat as far back as I could. I also popped ou the switches and cut those harnesses as far back as I could to give me the most wire to work with. The last part you need to get it all working is to get the harness on the back of the fuse pannel so you can wire it up like factory. My car had the fuse in the pannel but when I went to the back where the harness plugs in, there was no wire so I had to go back and get the connector. The connector I am talking about is on the lower right corner on the back of the fuse pannel inside the car. I am describing it to you as if you are facing the fuse pannel from the front and the fuses are in front of you.

Wiring it up is not that hard. The wires that go from the seat to the switches are the same color so you just match those up. The other wires left, black is ground, and the white is power.

To do the whole swap and wire it all up took me about 2 hours because I am very careful about how I run the wires and I solder and heat shrink each splice.

OMG, the horrors. Jeez trying to seperat the heated seat wires from the ones not need was a pain. Anyways i think i got them all except for the part behind the fusebox. I left that alon after i started getting a headach. So i need to take the connector from the fusebox also?

 

Yeah...I got the connector from the back of the fuse pannel because I wanted it to work like it was factory plus you don't want to wire it to a constant power source because then they won't turn off when you shut off the car and can drain the battery by accident. Also, it uses a 10 amp fuse so you have to watch what you wire it to. Basically it was just a lot easier to do it this way.

 

Now did you take the connector off alone or did you take it off with a little bit of wire attached to it?

 

You should do a write up and post it, ive been wanting to do the heated seats too.
