I live in upstate NY where the winters are pretty damn cold. I am putting a CAI (through fender) tomorrow and was curious about the wintertime. Will it make a difference starting/running when the temp is near 0 outside? Won't it be that cold pretty much everywhere in the engine area? Thanks in advance for your time.

 

There is a difference in acceleration, but I doubt you'll feel it; it's not that drastic. (at least it wasn't for me)

No difference as you suspected. Upon warming up the TB is heated anyway so that should keep the TB from frosting if it get's really cold.

 

I live in Yonkers, my girlfriend lives in Yorktown, and have a CAI and I have no problems with the car on cold mornings. I visit Poughkeepsie a lot to see friends and stay over and still have no problems in the morning, so basically, you will be fine. Just remember to watch deep puddles.

Oh...and I have had it on for 2 years now even through the winters (this car is my daily driver) and no issues at all.

BTW, your car is probably Pebble Beige. Actually, I think they changed the name to Sunlit Sand for >=1999

 

colder the better, even though its cold outside after your car warms up itll be hot under your hood and that intake will be suckin in all that nice cold air. You will beable to notice a difference, its not much but you will notice something in the low-midrange
