Stiff auto shifter

This past Sunday morning I went out to pick up lunch. The auto shifter felt normal when shifting out of P.

After lunch I installed my Injen intake. Then I went for a drive. The first thing I noticed is that is takes a little bit more effort than before to shift out of P.

The tranny shifts fine but the shifter itself is giving me trouble. Any ideas?

mine is stiff coming out of Park if I don't put my parking brake on before I put the car in Park...

so try to put your e-brake on before you put the auto shifter in park and see what happens

check the position of your intake, it might interfere with the shifting

read his first post, he just installed an injen intake, the filter can be in the way of the shifter.

i have the same problem if i put it in park and the car rolls alittle forward or backwards.. it'll be a little hard to get it out of park later but now i put it in park.. pull up the ebrake and then let go of the brakes.. the car doesnt roll back or forth so it comes out of gear smoothly.

the intake doesnt have anything to do with it...all cars are like this coming out of park if you dont keep your foot on the barke until the pulll up the e-brake while in park...go park on a steep hill just leave it in park without the ebrake and take the car out of park...there will be lots of resistance because the weight is being held on your tranny instead of your ebrake...people always ask why i pull up my ebrake whenever i park and this is the reason...i dont know for sure but i think that all that extra weight on your tranny probably isnt too healthy though i cant see it doing much harm
