valve lash adjustment

valve lash adjustment

recently i noticed my valves need adjustment im 100% sure i know this robs some hp but how better does the car feels after the service has been done i know it involves using shims because unlike other cars these can't be adjusted by tightening nuts it will be performed at the dealer(friend of mine) but any other thing i should look while at it

don't we have hydraulic lash adjusters and aren't 4th gens maintenance free in that area ???
somebody please confirm this>

Yes, the valves cannot be adjusted.

They use shims that must be replaced. This is NOT a simple procedure.

How did you figure out your valves need adjustment?

The noise? They all do that. Dont worry about it.

measuring the gap withh feeler gauge the ones from #2 cylinder were the worse of all the fronts did not measured the the ones from the back(#1 #3#5 beacause that invloves taking the intake out and all that crap but ma question here does it feels that much better and what else like any thing else i should look while at it im replacing the ks same day because the intake its gona be out it will be very simple but anything else

Why are you taking the intake off to change the KS?

You dont need to.

i know i don't need to but i in order to adjust the lash of valves the need to take intake manifold thats the best opportunity to replace ks
