Those with Raybesto QS Brake Pads....

I just ordered a set of Raybestos Quiet Stop brake pads because my pads are low. As of now, i will be keeping my stock rotors. Anyways, a mechanic from of the local import shops keep telling me that these pads will make alot of squeaking noises...Is that true?! Anybody have these pads and have these problems?! Please help me out....because if that is so, i want to get something else....he recommended Axxis pads.

Huh???????????

You have got to be kidding me. Raybestos QuietStop pads are just as they say, QUIET. Your mechanic is smoking some fine herb there.
I've never had any brake noise from my front-end, well, besides the pulsing from warped rotors

I've had QS pads on the front since August. I will be switching to Axxis within the next month or 2, but that's more for performance and hopefully reducing the chance of warping the 2k4 rotors of the BlehmCo BBK, not for noise. Axxis pads are often reported to squeal like a *****, so if anything, your mechanic's suggestions are backwards.

Just make sure the mechanic uses anti-squeal brake grease on all the backing plates/pad guides/etc and you should be fine. I always use that kind of stuff with any brake repair or install I do.

^^^ hahahaha.....I happen to be smoking some fine herb at this very moment , but I can tell you that the QS pads are quiet as hell....I haven't heard a squeek from mine in 8 months since i put them on - now the generic raybestos pads i put on the rears, they squeal terribly.....you should be fine with the QS.
