kosei rt valve stem prob. bike-tire size?
kosei rt valve stem prob. bike-tire size?
Hello all, Ive had these Kosei RT 17x7.5 wheels for a bit.
I went to a few different shops but my valve stem hole is so small its ridiculious. There the deep version thing and the valve is on the lip so it cant be drilled.
(see homepage)
Do they make special 2piece valve stems i read somewhere?
Can someone help me at all on this. much appreciated.
mwest.

lol.... i had the same prob about 2 yrs. ago when i had some kosei wheels. those valve stems are hard to get. i went to big ten tires and looked through their catalog (i think they're all chrome and it bolts on in the back). the valve stems had to be specially ordered. tried everywhere in town. they were a real b!tch to get. good luck.

Do they look like this?

If so, they're called Presta valves, also known as French valves. They hold air better than the Schraeder valves found on most wheels. They are commonly found on bicycle tubes, and you can get just the valve if you go to a bike shop and ask for a set of presta valve stems for tubeless mountain bike wheels.

This is a great idea, but get the adapters for them to be filled by a shreader type air hose. They screw on like a cap.
These really do hold air better. Used to olympic style bike race and the presta valve will hold 120-130 lbs just fine.
