pics of 3rd gens w/ 17s and NO springs?

I was thinkin bout gettin 17s and dont have money to also get springs, so I wanted to see what the car looked like with the rims and no drop. If it looks too stupid, I might have to wait a bit and get the springs at the same time. So...does anyone have any pics?

draw a 17" picture of the rim you want and cover your stock rims. it will look bascially the same. your overall spinning diameter (tire) should still be the same even after you change rims.

One option might be going to tirerack.com and putting in your year, make and model and they will show you what it would look like with a different size wheel and tire. I am going to be taking pics of mine tommorrow morning and I will email them to you. Keep in mind my struts are original, I think, so they may be a little deflated compared to newer shocks if you have those.

I stuck my 93's 17s on my old 90 just before I sold it. I just wanted to get a pic to see how the r6s look on a silver car. No I didnt drive it with just 3 lugs on each wheel...I put them on...took the pic...took them right back off.

Anyway it wasnt lowered.

lophix, those must be gen5 wheels. i've never seen that specific style on the 3rd gen, only the gen5 SE 6-spoke. anyway, they actually look pretty nice as is. even better if car is lowered. imo, larger wheels tend to come alive and sweeten the car's proportions when the body is dropped.

awsm66's pic of his 'temp' wheels makes his car look like it's goin' muddin'. just ghastly wheel gap exaggerated by the thin rubber-band effect of the lower profile tires on the huge rim spoke face.

i am a 16 man, but 17 or 18 can do well if the job is done all the way. body kits help bigger wheels look 'correct,' too. like awsm66's current car.

check out my site for pics. http://www.cardomain.com/id/tinsmax

i'm still thinkin whether or not if i need to lower it, because of the tires...235/45/17's, it almost has the same exact diameter as the stock ones.

no mine are R6 his are IS300.

I get this question all the time (except people think I have IS300 wheels) and I really dont understand why. The only thing similar is that they are both 5 spokes. I guess most arent as detail oriented as I am and notice the actual designs of wheels. I dont mean this in a negative tone toward you...just saying is all.

here's a few pics of mine on the below link...

http://members.cardomain.com/charbroiled91

btw if you're on a limited budget most places offer wheel tire combows at a fraction of the cost seperately and alot of performance shops will install eibach's (1.2" drop prokit) or (1.8" sportlines) for around $400
