JIC-FLT A2 questions... compare stock suspension to A2's...
OK, about a month ago, I whipped out my credit card and baam I got A2's sitting at my door a week later. It was pretty much an impulsive buy, I could not resist the GD offer... now I have to deal with paying off the balance.
Anyway, I bought these without fully understanding how coilover system works and what's all involved. I hope I did not make a rash decision by buying these without putting a lot of thought into it first. I guess you can call me a noob when it comes to modding cars.
- How hard is the installation? Can I do it by myself?
- If you recommend professional installation, how much in labor expenses am I looking at?
- About 30% of the time, I drive pretty rough. I want my car to keep up with my driving. Did I make a right choice by going with A2's? I know A2's are for track use, but what the hell, I went for them... I am starting with handling mods first... so far I have fstb, rsb. Now, I will install A2's and soon get some performance rims ...
- The area I live in has lot of potholes. I heard that A2's are very sensitive to every imperfection on the road. To me, ride quality is important too. Will I be sacrificing the "smooth" ride that the stock suspension offers? Is the dampening setting useful at all? If I am looking at really rough handling/suspension, then I may consider holding off the installation until I move to a better area with decent roadways...
Is there anything else I should know before I have these installed? thx.

Install is easy! You don't have to worry about compressing springs and all that stuff. It's just a remove and replace operation. Getting the ride height to your liking takes the most time. I installed my A-1's and set up the ride height in about 4 hours.

oh my bad, I didn't know they fixed the search feature. Last time I tried to search something, it was spitting out search results 6 months old... none of the newer threads were showing up in the search.
