60k maintenance questions

my maxima needs its 60k work done ASAP. i am getting close to 18 mpg doing city/highway...i was wondering what all i should have done extra to maybe boost the mileage thats not originally part of any regular maintenance. i am going to take it somewhere besides nissan...but nissan told me pcv needs to be flushed out or replaced and spark plugs too...i thought maximas had 105k spark plugs but the guy said thats for 2002-2003 not 2000. i really need some responses soon...thanks

Most of what they are going to do you can do youself in an afternoon. The plugs are 100k but you may want to do them now. That could be contributing to your gas mileage also maybe the fuel inj could be cleaned also the throttle body. If you are even a little mechanically inclined do the plugs yourself and have a shop change your tranny fuid and clean your injectors. I had a drivabilty problem and thought it was plugs but turned out to be the maf. I ended up changing all the fluids belts hoses and the coil packs and cleaned the throotle body at 38k and the car runs really nice. Hope this helps.
