Well the SP8k have worn out their welcome and are starting to get scary in the wet. Being that I have heard the the 8k is no longer made, and that the one they are selling now tend to have problems, I ma looking at the Bridgestone Potenza RE730. Anybody here have them? What do you think....pro/con....likes/dislikes?

Gotem on mine..

235/45/17. I was thinking about the SP8K at first but then I read in meny places how the wear is not much but its a great tire..if U ask me I think the overall best tire from Dunlop was that D40M2.. but all good things come to an end somwhere. as far as the bridgestone. only a few bucks more then Dunlops but I think they'll out do the SP8K in threadware.. might be a little louder as far as road noise goes. but I haven't had any problems with mine yet. but then again I've only had about 2000 miles onem..

Now that I got all 4 pointing the right direction they are pritty good. a lot better then the RE-92z that came with the car. wet is very good.. Dry, still feels like the back end might come out from time to time but a lot better then the stock RE-92. also a lot harder to spin these.. U really have to rev to intend to peel off for these to peel out.. otherwise they got kungfu grip to the A$$ Fault

RE730 good stuff

RE730 are suppose to be really good. They are one step up from RE71's and one step down from SO2 PP's. I work at Firestone and sell the RE730's alot and all my customers are satisfied with this tire. Id get a set for myself if i could afford it, even at my cost i cant afford them for myself. Laters

I got'em...put about 10k on them...great in wet (I live in Seattle), awesome in dry as well. They really grip the road, and are pretty quiet. As far as wear, so far so good. I have no complaints.

I put a set on my 99 SE-L a couple of months ago and absolutely love them. They have way better wet traction than the stock tires. On dry roads, the car just seems to stick like glue. I went through much delima about what size to get and eventually put 225\55\16 on the stock 16 rims and they look great. I had considered the 225\50\16's for the lower profile look but thought they left too much of a gap in the fender with the stock 16" wheels. I got them at tirerack.com for something like $475 with shipping + $60 at the nissan place for mount and balance. My local nissan place will rotate them for me for $10 so overall (considering 3 or 4 rotations during the life of the tire) I saved about $100 on the local Firestone price.

Damn, I thought you bought them already-->>

I have a set and they are cool in the dry(but not as good as my RE71's) and great in the wet.. They are very quiet for 17" tires..
