use 5w30 , the one with the blue cap

about 2 oil changes ago I used 0w30 which is the new one.. I don't know man, I was kinda sceard, didn't wanna have the piston come out of the block b/c the engine was running free as heck. everytime I hit the throttle the wheels would spin. so I switched back to 5w30.. that way if I break something I can take it to the dealer.. if I break it with 0w30.. man I know they'll have a few things to say about that. Use 5w30..

The OW is the cold temp viscosity... the 30 is the high temp... so it that doesn't matter... 0W just makes it flow faster at low temps. As long as you are not running like 0W-20, you will be fine I'm sure.

I thought the recommendation was to wait for the engine to have about 7500 miles to make sure that you get some actual engine wear for the rings to seat themselves be fore switching to synthetic. Make sure of this before switching.

There has been no actual proof, to my knowledge, that using synthetics will cause the rings to not seat properly. I changed my oil to Mobile 1 at about 900 miles. The car runs great... makes a lot of power, and doesn't leak or anything.

The recommendation was 6-9k switch. If you do it sooner you really do not give the engine time to seal the rings perfectly. Some people got away doing it for the 1st oil change, and I have heard of others who have tried it, then had smoke coming out there pipe on wide OPEN throttle runs, then they had to switch back for a few 1000 miles or so and then switch again no problems from that point on. The cars that get MOBIL 1 from the factory the engines are broken in before they are installed in the car so all the seals seat correctly. I read a article a while back concerning this and that is why those cars have mobil 1 from the factory. Anyways, If your 2nd change is at 6k you should be safe.
