At what RPM does your max idle at?
Mine idels about 800 RPM.

96 Maxima GLE.

mines around 850. But sometimes when i start it up itrevs up to highest 2500rpms then gradually goes back down to 850 after 10 sec or so. Is this normal?

When you post this, you need to post tranny type. GLEs obviously are auto. Also, are you talking about cold/startup idle speed, or once you are at proper OT?

600 warm in drive, foot on the brake.

My idle at normal operating temp. is around 650. I have the ***-matic.

in neutral after warmed up, autos SHOULD be 700rpm and 5spds are 600 rpm.

1200 RPM cold start

750 Normal

Note: This is with a partly working knock sensor. Im working on replacing it soon.

A KS won't affect your idle or cold start RPMs, has nothing to do with it.

normal idle 600
a/c on 900
