Finally felt the real power of the Y

I had my Y pipe for about a month and a half now and I was pretty happy with it I felt a little power and had sound I always wanted. Well today I put on a WSP cat back and now I really feel the new power I think anyone who has the stock cat back with an aftermarket Y is missing out. Maybe its just me but I now feel it even more. But I did loose alot of the sound I had. It is pretty quiet I will post pics on my page tomarrow. There is one little problem with the WSP cat back I need to straighten out, the muffler angles down so I have a big 3 or 4" space between my bumper and the tip of the muffler anyone else with this.

You can use large tie straps too.

Some of what you are "feeling" is just the sound of the new setup.
However, you probably got an extra 5-6 hp from the catback if you got it in 2.5".

I have less sound with the new set up. I have a feeling that my stock catback was choking the potential of the Y because it feels alot more than 5 - 6 HP I feel I finally got all the Y power. Yes it is 2.5"

Well, that is good to hear that it is quieter.
What I was saying is that you will get gains with the y-pipe (10-15 hp), but then when you put the 2.5" exhaust on there, you should get an additional 5-6 hp. That is probably what you are feeling.
It is great, isn't it?

It is the best feeling, and at the same time I don't sound like a go-kart I have a great sleeper now.

The thing is that you won't feel anything that is 10hp or less. Whatever you're feeling is in your head as the 2-4 you freed up with the cat back won't be noticeable. Our stock exhaust isn't very restricted besides the one bad bend in the b-pipe. Besides that going to a 2.5" exhaust on a n/a 3.0L won't give much of a gain since 2.25" is enough. Also if you ever see a y-pipe dyno you'll see that the gains don't show up yil after 3500rpm.

i had my catback before i had my y pipe. when i first got my cat back i felt it pull a little bit harder after 4k rpm it wasnt that much of a difference. maybe as much as my intake. but after i got the y pipe along with my cat back i loved it. the sound of my muffler got tremendously louder and pulled a lot more after 3500 rpm

How much was the WSP 2.5" catback?
i might be interested in getting one of these, of course as long as the price is right.
