Anyone else have an AC that smells funky, regardless of how much you dry it out each time you use the AC ? just wondering if anyone out there has had any luck cleaning the AC condenser coils and stuff or did you have to take it to a shop to get it cleaned... and I mean cleaned, not like getting the AC purged/flushed and recharged... Any takers ?

 

the smell, chances are, is coming from the evaporator inside the dash.
The smell you are smelling is mold/mildew that builds up on it.
Nothing terribly unusual just annoying.
There is a number of chemicals that you can spray onto it to kill the mold and hopefully eliminate the smell.
Good luck though, don't know if any of them work.
sometimes it's also a symptom of a leaky evaporator.
